About Main Street Grants Pass

Main Street Grants Pass is a community-driven 501(c)(6) nonprofit dedicated to strengthening and preserving historic downtown Grants Pass, Oregon. As part of the Oregon Main Street Network and Main Street America framework, we focus on economic vitality, design, promotion, and organization to create a downtown that works for businesses, residents, and visitors alike.

About the Role

The Executive Director is the chief professional leader and public face of Main Street Grants Pass. This position manages daily operations, leads signature downtown events, organizes volunteers, builds partnerships, and drives fundraising and grant efforts

This role is highly visible and hands-on. The Executive Director is expected to be present downtown, build trust with stakeholders, and turn ideas into execution.

This is a full-time, one-year funded position with a strong organizational commitment to continuation based on performance and success in building sustainable funding.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Support business recruitment, retention, and expansion. Pursue grants, sponsorships, and private funding. Track downtown performance and economic metrics

Economic Vitality

Advocate for historic preservation and quality downtown improvements. Support façade and streetscape enhancements
Coordinate with property owners and city partners

Organization and Outreach

Lead signature events such as First Friday, August Cruise, and Cocoa Crawl, Manage downtown marketing, branding, and communications
Increase foot traffic and community engagement

Promotion and Events

Design

Serve as the primary spokesperson for downtown
Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and committees
Report to and work closely with the Board of Directors


Who Should Apply

This role is ideal for a community-oriented leader who is comfortable being visible, making decisions, and building systems from the ground up.

We are especially interested in candidates with experience in nonprofit leadership, event management, fundraising, downtown or community development, and volunteer coordination.

Strong communication skills, independent judgment, and a genuine interest in place matter more than titles.

  • Base salary: $55,000 annually

  • Performance bonus up to $7,000 tied to fundraising and membership goals

  • Optional health and wellness stipend up to $500 per month

  • 15 days paid time off plus 10 paid holidays

  • $1,000 annual professional development budget

  • Mileage and cell phone reimbursement

  • Flexible schedule with evening and weekend event work

Total potential compensation 65,000 - 74,000 depending on benefits selection and performance.
